windy night 1: there was kind of an on again off again little wind storm our first day/night, and everyone had a rough night because if it. parker & I both have ptsd from the paleo trip where he got blown away by 60+ mph winds lol, so that’s why we got “big-ass rocks”, so lol.

the spaghetti pit: okay so this was our first week. and we were still figuring out the correct proportions/amounts of food to make for the seven of us, meaning that we often made too much of one thing or everything… we also only had one garbage bag that I brought (luckily), and we didn’t want to dump food into that and let it get nasty all week until we drove home with it. sooo we dug food pits and buried it almost every night… it was quite gross tbh. anyway, one night we made wayyyy too much spaghetti, so we dug a spaghetti pit, and also dumped a good portion of water we used to rinse and wash dishes. it was absolutely disgusting lol. parker was sort of in charge of burying the spaghetti (he ended up in charge of a lot of the food, he was fantastic), but according to him, he got distracted by something and left the pit for maybe an hourish. later on, after it was getting dark, dan came over to parker, but he was walking a little weird, almost like he was favoring one leg… and he said something along the lines of “you should probably bury your spaghetti pit” and left. now we don’t know for sure… but we can kind of connect the dots and guess that dan may have stepped in the spaghetti pit!!! which is just the worst and funniest thing imaginable. we all die every time we tell the story, which we did to every following professor. and each professor also thought it was hilarious. I think we’re all hoping to never find out if it’s true or not, because it’s so much funnier not knowing 🙂

parker and said spaghetti pit… imagine stepping in that 😐

nerds in the shade: I wish I had a picture, but every day when we got back to camp, the only shade to be found was next to the cars, so we got into a routine of all setting up our chairs in the shade and read for like an hour, and it was very silly and nerdy and cute

scorpion: there was a scorpion underneath my tent when I took it down. that’s all.
